excellent. jerry seinfeld is not only astute, insightful, perceptive, and articulate but personable as well. it was effortless following his train of thought. what energy! keep asking jerry back. loved the seinfeld show. was in a class in writing, songwriting, when the seinfeld show took off. a fellow songwriter recommended checking out the tv show. at first i didn't get it, then i realized that the writing on the seinfeld show applies to songwriting as well. what a blast to make that connection. kudos to jerry for loving his work. keep at it jerry; you are inspiring! charlie, keep asking him back! yeah!
Throughout the Seinfeld series, in the few times children make an appearance, they are quite reviled. They are portrayed as ill tempered, spoiled irrational creatures. So here is Seinfeld, in my opinion, making amends. I think he has come to like children, now that he has three of his own. From what he told Charlie, he is quite besotted with them and unapologetically so. My daughter saw the movie and enjoyed it a lot. From what she told me, it's a classic Seinfeld concept, for children. The Bee lawyer sets out to do something good, or serve someone a good turn and ends up with a disaster on his hands (remember Babbu)? Brilliant, as always.
An excellent interview that revealed to me something I should have known but did not: Jerry Seinfeld is very smart, and not just in a "jokey" way. There were some rough spots -- it seemed like Rose wanted to plug Bee Movie more than Seinfeld did -- but overall both Seinfeld and Rose gave good game and watching this interview is a good way to spend an hour.

Seinfeld softened (somewhat) a cynical misanthrope of sorts. An indifferent infrequent viewer, I now wonder if I missed something more worthwhile than was obvious in the (intentionally?) inane chatter. Alas, so it goes.

This has to be one of the BEST interviews I have ever seen on public television! I admire the humility of Charlie, although the depth and scope of his interview was so penetrating. So much about where Jerry Sienfeld is 'coming from' about the science of comedy - where it has come from and the basic philosophy of 'what is funny' struck me deeply... I am touched that Seinfeld has been thoughtful about the series he did, what he was doing at the time and where it was going. I admire both Jerry Seinfeld and Charlie Rose so much deeper having seen this episode. Thank You.
Great conversation! [Jerry Seinfeld and I share something in common: we both attended Queens College/CUNY. At 53, he could easily pass for 40.\ I rarely watch programs which feature 'show biz greats.' These "stars" are usually grandious, self-centered bores who have nothing to say except exuding the underlying message of 'I'm important.' Seinfeld is quite accomplished. But, he realizes that he just another person -- perhaps quite talented than most other comics -- but, (as my uncle would say): 'a regular guy.' But, having seen him on other interviews, I learned tonight that his humor emanates from an intellectual curiosity of this world that we were all born into (and, really don't know why). He realizes the strangeness that most of us miss. But his acute intellectuality and comedic genius does not make him pretentious. The comment he made that struck home the most was when Charlie Rose asked him how it felt to leave the nine-year series a very rich man. 'It made me realize that I will never have to consider money when presented with a project. I knew I would only have to consider its merits -- did I want to do it? Something we should all learn about wealth. The most it can bring us is freedom. Compare him to the two-bit entertainers going on TV shows plugging their latest junk. And, you know that the only things that they care about is themselves and how important they are. And, that the average career length is about three years. [Not true for Seinfeld.\ Mr. Seinfeld: you are the antithesis of those "super stars" du jour. You are a very talented entertainer and a 'regular guy,' Enjoy!
I read somewhere that people are not being nice to Jerry. Why? He's so funny. Although I should tell him he almost killed my sister. I repeated his rant about whiter than white detergent and she laughed so hard she choked and nearly blacked out.
Hollywood is still very prejudiced against tv actors. Jerry Seinfeld making a B movie? A travesty.
