there is a lot in america that is great. it still is every individual's dream factory and that is america's greatness. people who have want to innovate do not go to india or china - they go to america, and this will last for a while.

Mr. Nilekani is a very inteligent man. It sounds like between India and China the two countrys are forgeing foward at an incredible speed. The two countrys are on course to dominate in growth and prosparity, for the forseeable future. The downside to that, is the US is heading in the opposite direction. The US is bogged down in Afganastan and Iraq, For the forceable future. While other countrys like these and Ireland, Russia, South American countrys, and so on, are striving ahead to compete in this global economy. The US won't be able to keep up, with the cost of the war approching one trillion dollars. Mr Nilekani makes a good point that I like, when he states with this econimic growth in India, continueing into the future, will help invest in the countrys infurstructure, but most importantly will help lift the poor in the population up out of poverty, and provide a good education and better quality jobs, so they can live a better life. You have to give him credit, and India, to have the wisdom, by providing the people with a quality education and a livable wage as they grow, everyone will get along when all are included in the growth of India. That's where the US has failed the american people. Not investing in public education for all since the Reagan years. As the stock market climbs to new highs, it leaves more of us behind. The US is probably the only democratic country, that can pull this off, while the people sit idlely buy and watch their future of are kids, be wasted working at a McDonalds for minimum wage; which is to high for Bush and the republicans. The republican party refuses to invest in the future of this country, when it comes to a good education so we can compete in a global economy. Outsourcing will continue to grow, to maximize profits for big bussiness and the rich, and as a result there won't be any jobs left that pay a livable wage, health care, retirement, vacation pay, sick leave, holiday pay. Those days are long gone. As the congressman from Tampa, fl. once said " I don't mind the rich getting richer, but don't leave the rest of us behind". That's exactly what the republicans have done with their TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMY. In the US it's everbody for themselves. I have to get a kick out of what some in Wash. have been talking about lately. Having the young people give back to the country like joining the service, red cross, being a teacher, some type of public service. I can't figure out why they would give back anything. they haven't received anything to give back other then a national debt in the trillions. They must be joking for them to ask are children to pay for the biggest rip off of the american people in the last forty years. Mr. Rose you might check out the state of New Hampshire, I don't think they even have a public school system, never mind anything else to offer.
