Mr. Rose thank you for this interview, I finally purchases Letters From Nuremberg. It is an excellent book. It is love letters home to his wife and shows his love for his children. Thomas Dodd lets us into his head and heart, by telling us most of his feelings at this time away from his family and the devastation of Germany and most of Europe. He lets into what is happening during the trial and the people involved. It is a reminder of what was in the past and shows us we don't want to have another World War, or lesser wars(if there is such a thing).

Thank you for featuring Sen. Dodd on your program! No other candidate has his level of integrity, which is why it is so disappointing that he dropped out of the presidential race after the Iowa caucus.

No wonder my nephew, Jay, works for Sen. Dodd! I was impressed with Sen. Dodd before Jay started to work for him, and I'm even more now. Also, I think Luci Uzzzle, Charlie's aunt, would have been so proud of Charlie and the expert interviewer he is!

Where else in media will we find someone serious enough about helping to inform the public which candidates should be elected as the leader of the free world as Charlie has shown in so freely offering to open his show up for one on one debates for a full and focused hour on a given issue? These 30-60 second sound bites at these worthless debates are an insult to serious voters. More importantly, what does it say about the hand the media has played in all our litany of downfalls here and the ripple effect around the world that there is no other offer out there like that? Sadly, what does it say about these so called leaders vying for this immense position of power when they can't press hard enough with all their media attention for something like that to make it happen - except where the host is independently funded enough to make it happen? Only the lesser known candidates are willing to be specific and offer to debate while the "best" candidates just want to run out the clock to hold their lead. That is the opposite of leadership - personified! Thank goodness for Charlie and his team of true news people.

THANK YOU, Mr. Rose, for jumping on Senator Dodd's suggestion that presidential candidates from different parties sit down together one-on-one to discuss current issues. I'm finding that even people who normally tend to be passive about the political process realize that this upcoming election is critically important to our country, as you said. But the primary debates give us only a superficial look at the candidates. If only all voters could easily access the New Hampshire and Iowa town hall meetings and house parties mentioned by Senator Dodd. We would not be bored! I was impressed with Senator Dodd during your interview and felt I learned a great deal more about a candidate of whom I had know little; the same with Senator Biden after your interview. These lesser-known candidates have a lot of experience to offer and your shows help us tremendiously to make this important decision.

I agree with Larra's comment inre: having the candidates converse at your table. It would be far more interesting than the tit bits we get on the news. Sorry to say I haven't paid much attention to politics but I have become very interested with 2008 elections coming up. I did not know of Senator Biden or Senator Dodd until this campaign trail and per the Charlie Rose Program. Great Job CHARLIE.

I have tried to watch this four times now, and it gets just past the part where Dodd is describing his father using evidence, it stops and goes back to the beginning.

My roommate and I just happened upon this episode and have two things to say: 1. Mr. Rose PLEASE follow through on your offer to televise actual discussions between candidates on different issues!!!! This is the ONLY way we can feel there is even a reason to vote. We need access to the candidates's ideas directly - not through hand raising and media bytes created by their media handlers. 2. Neither of us no positive impression of Chris Dodd from the media - until now. After this interview we both turned to each other, thinking the same thing: we are both quite more impressed with Senator Dodd than with either Clinton or Obama! THANK YOU FOR BRINGING HIM ON. There might be a candidate worth voting for yet!

Senator Dodd was impressive, composed, and very interesting -- thank you for featuring him on your show. His points on the relevance of Nuremberg in today's climate are exactly on point. I also found his story about his father and the importance of public service very touching. I've ordered his book and cannot wait to read it.

On the Charlie Rose show on Monday, September 10 2007, you made the statement that "We are a Nation of Laws". This is true, but this is meaningless lip service unless "We are a Nation of Laws ENFORCED equally on all people". The Nazi Terrorists were brought to trial and punished for their crimes. It appears that your father participated in these trials. Since that time the United States moral authority has been lost. 1. The United States has recognized the Zionist Terrorists as the State of Israel, which is land that the Palestine People fled from when the Zionist Terrorists rose up against the British Mandate. The people who fled Nazi Germany including their children and Grandchildren are being given German Citizenship. Israel refuses to do this for the Palestine People. 2. Israel did not get all the land it wanted, so it attacked the Palestine People and still occupy some of the Palestine land and have built illegal settlements upon that land. Yet the United States continues to give the Zionist Terrorist billions of dollars of US Taxpayer dollars and puts sanctions on the Palestine People who are not in violation of the law and have an elected government. 3. Israel is in violation of United Nations resolutions. This was part of the justification for the invasion of Iraq. Yet the United States continues to give the Zionist Terrorist billions of dollars of US Taxpayer dollars and puts sanctions on the Palestine People who are not in violation of the law and have an elected government. 4. Israel has unregulated non-conventional weapons. Yet the United States continues to give the Zionist Terrorist billions of dollars of US Taxpayer dollars and puts sanctions on the Palestine People who are not in violation of the law and have an elected government. 5. Israel treats the Paltestine people inhumanly. Yet the United States continues to give the Zionist Terrorist billions of dollars of US Taxpayer dollars and puts sanctions on the Palestine People who are not in violation of the law and have an elected government. 6. When the Nazis Terrorists continued to violate International Law after Land was taken from Czechoslovakia and given to them, they were forced to accept unconditional surrender. Nothing less must be accepted from the Zionist Terrorists. Are we a Nation of Laws or a Nation of Hypocrites? Have a good day Tony 100% Citizen of the United States of America Anton J. How good to hear Dodd speak of his father's work at Nuremberg, and to hear the beliefs of both himself and his father. I'm going to study up on Dodd - he may be the candidate I'm looking for...Thank you.

I found Senator Dodd's comments about the Nazi war trials at Nuremberg to be particularly interesting. One minor correction to his remarks Albert Speer did not receive a few years, he received a twenty year sentence that haunted him for the rest of his life and ruined any chance of building a relationship with his children. I suggest reading "The Spandau Diaries" if anyone thinks this was a light or easy sentence (And I am not debating whether or not Speer should have gotten the death penalty. His comments concerning his father's estimation of Robert Jackson's worth as a prosecutor are spot on sadly. To allow a recovering drug addict and eccentric egomaniac to run rings around you is not the mark of a good attorney, a younger and more dynamic prosecutor was needed. It was fortunate indeed the trial of most of the defendents (save Hans Fritzsche and a few others) was basically a foregone conclusion anyway.
