Just an amazing show with one of the great tennis icons of our time. I am proud to have been given the honor to view this show. It will surely be remembered as the best example on video of Roger Federer at mid career excellence. Thank you Charlie!
One of the best interviewer chatting with my favorite athlete, it doesn't get better than that. Thanks you Charlie Rose for interviewing Federer again and I hope you will do so again after he ties or beats Sampras' record, or wins the French. Collins is indeed mistaken about Wimbledon 07 being the first time Fed and Nadal played five sets; as someone already pointed out, they did so in Rome on clay in 06 but also in Miami on hard court, in 05 I believe; it was only the second time they played each other (I think) and Fed came back from two sets down to win.
GREAT INTERVIEW - Before the interview I was a Roger Federer fan. Now however I am not only a Roger Federer fan but also a Charlie Rose fan. Keep up the good work Charlie.
Collins is mistaken. Federer and Nadal had played a five set match before the Wimbeldon final. It took place in a final on clay in Rome in 2006. Nadal won that 7-6 in the fifth after he had saved two match points at 4-5, 15-40.
One word kept coming to mind while watching both Roger and Rafa: grace. In Roger's case, perhaps it's grace in both motion AND spirit. I wish they could bottle this stuff and feed it to athletes across all sports, especially to those who lost their humility on the way to the "winning" moment. Thank you for the wonderful, insightful show. Hard to believe these two young men are simply that ... still young men!
That was such a fabulous show! All these point of views are very interesting, and of course, the so-called rivlary between Federer and Nadal is here again portrayed as the very respectful relationship these two players have, their maturity and their mutual admiration for each other. No aggressivity or vindictive spirit here! Great show, lots of good insights, thank you!!!
Very enjoyable show - thanks a lot Charlie. I completely concur with Bob's remarks above that Rodger and Rafa are a great credit to the sport of tennis, and Charlie did a great job of eliciting and highlighting their terrific qualities during this show. It is always hard for me to believe that Rafa is only 21. He has always spoken with the wisdom, maturity, and good humor of someone twice his age. Roger is under great pressure these days but he is doing such a great job coping with it in positive ways, such as his close friendship with Tiger Woods. I hope you will be having many more interviews with these two fantastic young tennis rivals!

Excellent program I wish I could see it live, but I was able to enjoy it anyway. Thank you Charlie! for having always the best on your show (including you), you still have to invet some others personalities to make it even better, you have to invite Ed Witten, Lee Smolin and I would like to see Chomsky again on your show. I've been sort of bless to see a player like Federer, this is because all people always talk about Borg, Ladver, Conors, Jimm Mc, people I didn't see play, I saw Pete and Agassi, I was fan of Agassi more than Pete although I recognize that Pete was the best in his era, I berly remember Lendl one of the less known but one of the best of all time. So to me it's great time when I get older I'll be able to say, yeah! I got to see Roger playing!!, fantastic player, I think he'll beat Sampras Record it's only matter of time, but he still needs to win on clay and if he doesn't do it soon It'll become more mentaly than physically or become both, but if it becomes mentaly faster than physically he'll go without wining Roland Garros, that's a shame. I think Roger needs a coach!! soon! he seems not realizing that he needs one to win on clay and he needs a coach who can tell him that needs to move more, specially in the final of US Open Roger seems to be just relaying on his hand (forthhand or whatever) than his movment on the court, of course he still the best in his era.
An excellent program. Nice to see a discussion of this nature with such great names and personalities of the game. Roger brings so much insight and grace to this sport. Bravo--a sportsman who is true to himself and the sport. Rafael also exmplifies all that is good about the game amd sportmanship. Tennis fans rarely get a chance to hear such in-depth coverage about this sport. Thanks Charlie for the show.
This was a fantastic show! Charlie does an amazing job with these types of specials. He and Roger Federer will go down as two of the greatest in their professions. Thank you for this spectacular program.
What a great show! I feel like this show on Roger Federer is well deserved, but also well timed. There is another player on the horizon, and he is going to become part of the mix and create some new peoblems for the best player in the world (at this time). I am speaking of Novak Djokovic. It is assured that more sooner than later, this pedestal from which Roger stands will begin to shake; and his once unshakable stance will fall, never to be the same. This is not to take away anything from his incredible gifts, talents and stature as one of the world's best. But alas, nothing is forever. He is being watched, observed, copied and sought after. Get ready Roger! You have interesting times ahead. Great feature. I loved it! Look forward to an hour with Nadal and Novak.

These two young men, Federer and Nadal, are very wise and very respectful to others and to each other. They display a maturity beyond their years. That is nice to watch. Thank you Charlie Rose. This program was a treat to watch.
Charlie, It was great fun watching your show about Federer and Nadal. As a high school tennis player in the early 1970's, I watched Laver play Rosewall at an exhibition match in Hartford, Connecticut. You picked all the right tennis personalities for this show with the inclusion of Bud Collins, John McEnroe, and Jim Courrier. I watched the French Open final this year and noticed the calm, determined, respectful, and professional behavior of the two young men on the court in Paris - so refreshing in the miasma of modern day professional sports. The high levels of energy and intelligence in your guests as they answered your questions made for pure viewing pleasure! Your shows just keep getting better. I would love to purchase a copy of this show for my brother, Peter, who has no TV in his home but loves tennis and especially Federer and Nadal and their rivalry. M.R.Rose My mother died two years ago of lemphomea.The last years of her life we enjoyed watching jimmy mc. take over a falling tennis program.she loved where pro tennis was heading when she passed.she told me to watch that federer kid hes somthing special.now that shes gone to me he is something special.THANK YOU for the 9/4/07 interview.It made my holiday fell like she was part of it.And thank you jimmy mc.for all youve done for the sport of tennis. god bless toby

I have no idea which Broadband selection I should make, but with the first opeion, I could review Friday's program that was shown on Maine Public Television last night, Sunday. It was impressive that Ted Sorenson endorsed Barack Obama, for all of the reasons that I have selected him as my preference for 2008. Also noted the wisdom of sending an advance team to negotiate with adversaries that does not negate Obama's pledge to talk with them the year he assues the office of President.
