Robyn Meredith is dead on about America competing in a global economy. The train is leaving, Americans had best be on board.
While this was an interesting interview, Charlie failed to ask the tough questions that he is known for asking. He let Mr.Sun control the conversation. The tough questions that he failed to ask are: 1) Why China prevents unfettered access to information to its people such as blocking Internet sites and when will it end? e.g. BBCNews.com is blocked. 2) Even though they have a so called legal system, they have the practice of secretive extra-judicial handling for those cases that they think are "sensitive." When will true justice emerge? 3) The US will defend any attack on Taiwan. This is the central theater for US China conflict. Will China renounce taking Taiwan by force? 4) When will its people have the direct right to elect its President 5) Developers with communist party's help frequently usurp land at will. When will true property rights emerge? 6) When will HK have a truly elected head? Not appointed by Beijing...
Does Charlie Rose intend to gather all four of the reports from Beijing and place them in a collectible dvd for possible sale on amazon? I would love to have a chronicled collection of the interviews.
