As the U.S. Justice Robert Jackson stated at Nuremberg, the supreme crime of aggression includes all of the consequences resulting from the act of aggression. In the case of the unprovoked and illegal U.S. invasion of Iraq, the violence of waring factions within Iraq was unleashed by the invasion. Therefore, U.S. leaders who planned and carried out the invasion should be held responsible for these consequences before an international war crimes tribunal.

The was completely disgusting! Every word out of thses 3 men's mouths were how horrible and stupid the USA is; how horrible & stupid US troops are; how brave, gallant, supremely intelligent and righteous journalists are (including themselves). I am through watching Charlie Rose.

We could use more people like Mr. Burns who tell the situation like it is without political spin. Watching these interviews provided me with by far the greatest amount of knowledge on the subject. Thank you John Burns and thank you Charlie for providing the nation with much needed clearity on a complicated issue. Mr. Burns interviews on your program will be truly missed.

When Iraq is so current why do you put this wonderful Burns on in a former program. I was so looking forward to this only to see that it is old news.

I think burns may be a tad bit overrated. is he really going out there and "finding" these stories or is he just relying on his brave iraqi stringers for all "his" information? who is really doing the hard work here?

Burns points out that the political progress is nonexistent. While he notes that the "surge" has had some success and could be more successful with time, he also reports that there is a time limit to the "surge." Does anyone doubt that the forces of violence do not recognize this? "Surge" by definition has a shelf life. "AFTER the surge" is just a prelude to what will happen when the US leaves - whether we stay there one more year or ten.

Great reporting. Providing information of the highest quality while avoiding the politics as much as possible. Thank you Mr Burns. Will be sorry to lose you to well deserved Cushy London.

I admire and respect this reporter's honesty and courage to "report" what he see's and hear's -- he is much better than most. Thanks for John Burns -- for his honest reporting. (I just wish the Democratic leaders in Congress had as much wisdom!)

Burns has certainly brought the Times enormous stature with his reporting from Baghdad. However only 4 days before this interview a reporter at the Times Iraqi bureau, which Burns heads, was shot to death on his way to work. That was the same day the London bureau chief, Allan Cowell, ended his tenure there - that will be Burns new position.

One of the few folks reporting the war that has common sense, balance, and honesty. A true reporter; not a biased talking head.

Glad to hear other people can't get this to play either. Thought I was doing something wrong. According to comment by Chris Baker, we may have to wait till Thursday(?). Hope we can get it then.

JFB: Stop standing on that promontory in the middle of the night, silhouetted by camera lights. The one person who should have taken edification from your work has not, and the rest of us need to press our needs on your successor. We all better get on with the switch. I salute your perseverance, courage and honesty.

Late last night I mentioned to my son in another state to try to watch John Burns today if possible. He tried tonight but had no luck. So disappointing because Burns is so important for all to have the opportunity to hear.

I thought John Burns had ended his Baghdad assignment, in fact you had a program where you discussed this. What happened, is he back, for ho long? He is one of the best of course. So is Charlie...
