Another disappointment. Another cynical conversation with an insider while our country goes down. I really appreciate Larry King a lot more lately.
Charlie continues to proove himself as a slightly more sophisticated version of Larry King. Too close and comfortable with those that he interviews. The interview with Ken Duberstien was simply an exchange to see who would be satisfied and who would not with the Libby commutation. Just another decision that only carries political import. No discussion takes place to investigate the facts. No, Charlie, you state that the American People will soon forget. Well, with "journalists" like yourself, I fear that is the case. Not a problem in your mind when the President sidesteps justice by blocking a federal judges sentence for a man who committed a crime designed to keep the American People from knowing how far the corruption goes up our levels of government. Nope, Charlie has some big party's scheduled with his guests and he sure would not want to be left off the invite list........
It seems,at least from my perch in Canada,that you have allowed "something" terrible to take control of your wonderful country.Good luck in its disposal.Maybe a truth in hand is worth two in the "Bush"
When King George Bush gave his nomination acceptance speech to the GOP in 2000, he said things like: "We are now the party of ideas and innovation ... The party of idealism and inclusion." "Our country is ready for high standards and new leaders..." "An era of tarnished ideals is giving way to a responsibility era..." The Libby commutation is yet one more example of his duplicity. You could fill an entire show on the things Bush said in that speech and then disavowed, ignored or twisted by his policies and actions. You could fill another show on Cheney's lie-filled acceptance speech, starting with his promise that Bush ..."will restore decency and integrity to the oval office."
Dear Mr. Bush, There is one way to turn this ship around and you said it once; "dead or alive I don't care." BRING OSAMA BIN LADEN TO JUSTICE. If you could do this it will mostly erase any perceived current failures and free you up to let history decide your legacy. After 9-11-01 this should have been the only focus. As soon as you got him you would have had carte blanche for whatever other policy. Clinton has him in the Cross hairs and failed even after two acts of war (embassy bombings). It should be a campaign promise for any candidate running it the next election. Also could you implement some sort of Purple Hart type of civic medal for persons or families that are killed or injured in terrorist attacks. Again, OSAMA...OSAMA...OSAMA. Bring him in dead or alive. It's overtime for a full court press on this and if there is one already it's time for a full court press to the full court press. bb
Lewis Libby was convicted by a jury of his peers - he was convicted of a crime - and was sentenced based on that conviction. What does it say to the nation (and those currently in the courts) when the commander in chief says to a friend, "hey don't worry about it, here's that get out of jail free card we spoke about last year..." Why are you talking about politics? Why aren't you talking about the criminal who should be in jail?
