June 29, 2007 - Your segment on the opening day to purchase a Mac iPhone was excellent. The only thing you should of included was the hilarious skit "Saturday Night Live" did on Steve Jobs last November. All the college kids parodied that for a month. I still just went into your CR shop on Amazon and bought (5) DVD copies (for Gifts)...but, hey! you charged me +30 dollars to send 5 dvd on overnight shipping though -- bad Charlie. *smile* Thanks for being the best show on TV. I think it's important to realize that two of the three people included in the iPhone show last night had a lot to lose if they were overly negative about their 2 1/2 week jump on using the iPhone. Apple hand picked the "lucky" 4 for the initial reviews. One can only imagine that if they were negative about the phone they perhaps would be relegated to the other 6 billion who may have to wait to get their hands on Apple's next big product release. John Heilemann was the only panelist who less than idolized Apple and its iPhone.... he probably won't be on the "list of four" next go around.

I don't think that the market would be thrilled if Microsoft jumped in the market with a similar phone. The key is what one of your guests speaking about Apple's "robust operating system." Already Windows CE has proven to be less robust and FAR more susceptible to virus attacks (see: http://www.windowsfordevices.com/news/NS3393572573.html) Many people don't know that the relative non-existence of viruses on Apple-based systems has nothing to do with its small market share but rather the knowledge required to develop a virus for the Unix-based software. Windows is quite easy for the novice to attack, albeit somewhat tougher for Windows CE, the MS mobile softward base.
