I think, Mariane had a great courage to replay the whole horrific memory that happened to her. Also, it is so amazing that celebrities feel that obligation using their power and money to make people aware of the crule realities happen around the world everyday. Great Human Beings!

I hope that everyone will see this film with an open mind, and learn from the amazing example set by Marianne Pearl. She didn't act in anger, or violently. Instead, she rose above the violent actions of a group, and showed the rest of the world that "An eye for an eye" only perpetuates the cycle of violence. It takes a tremendous amount of courage and love to act the way Marianne has acted. God bless you and your family, and all those involved in making this powerful film.

Great movie, well done. The story, the message has been said and has been listened to with great attention. Emotions fly high, love, connections, sadness, care, communications, appretiation for another human being, effort - you name it, it is there well handled and very well exposed. Nice to see Angelina in this role. I am a fun of you, in every way, I admire you. Thank you for being this way. Mariane my heart goes to you, you are an amazing person. Maria

Extraordinaire film, I am not a fan of Angelina, but have the most up-respect for her. She have the opinion and put her celebrity into a good cause. Marianne, occupe toi bien de ton enfant, le plus important. Qu'elle emotion. Pierrick

In all that celebrity hypocresy, I find that Angelina Jolie at least as the merit to at least put her money where her opinions are. I respect that, the media circus around her is not made by her. She actually did not want to be UN goodwill representative, because she did not think that her image was appropriate. You got to respect that.

I just watched the movie "A mighty Heart" and was so impressed with the acting of Angeline Jolie in being able to bring out the emotional message of Daniel and Mariane Perl's story. I remember following the story when it was unfolding, and watching this film about the events that took place from Mariane's view put a whole new realistic view to a current world issue. Mariane is certainly a woman of grace and beauty, putting herself and her husband above the ugliness and horror of the subject of terrorism, and Angeline does a fabulous job to say the least of portraying Mariane's role in this moving film. Kudos to Mariane and Angeline; also to both Daniel Perl for his sacrifice and Brad Pitt for such a moving piece of work.

I admire these 2 women enormously. They are great examples for women of today. Angelina is so talented and gorgeous as always. She is thin, yet well proportioned. She was voted, sexiest and also most beautiful woman on earth. There are many, many women green with envy of her perfection, but we all know that! :-)

These are two beautiful women, obviously physically, and especially mentally and in their character, & you can learn a lot by listening to them talk together in the same room, w/ Charlie as facilitator. Mariane's point about her 'revenge' on terrorists was cogently expressed, even though it's what Bush was saying right after 9/11 -- i.e., if you don't go about your usual business, the terrorists have won. The film could have been much better done. It was kinda flat, and that's probably why it was a box-office flop. But don't be surprised if Angelina gets a best-actress Oscar for her performance. That was the best part of the piece. Deeply felt, because Mariane is a friend.

Marianne and Angelina are phenom's, for obvious reasons. &, before commenters may criticize, imagine & think of what it takes, ( as a journalist & as an actress )to bring this vital present day issue & story to a wide- audience. Otherwise, quite honestly, no story & even less questioning, thought, learning & action. This great effort & the concise & involved decision making made, is not in vain. It's important & powerful & sets an excellent example & opens more doors to vital issues entering into & influencing the mainstream. Both are an inspiration, thank you for making this interview available online. & thank you for Mighty Heart.

I'm not convinced. The movie seemed distant; it's unclear why a movie was even made of this tragedy. Something about it all seems off.

As important an event as the horrible murder of Daniel Pearl is, I found the movie to be essentially a mere chronological retelling of events. If it was intended to help us understand either Pearl or his wife better, it didnâ??t do that for me or for anyone I know who saw it. An event fraught with ideology, with all the questions it raises, and centered around a politically aware and active couple, was portrayed with barely a nod to its real-life complexities. The only time the film begins to engage with Mariane Pearlâ??s character is at the very end, where she confronts the TV interviewerâ??s typically intrusive and sensationalist questions. A good director, a talented cast, a strong story, but, in the end, a straightforward good guys versus bad suspense story.

"but i still would've thought the producers would've had the decency to cast a woman of color in the role of mariane pearl." They look surprisingly alike. Mariane seemed to have something to do with Jolie being cast. She is a capable actor. I don't see why that choice was indecent.

Mariane is so fascinating, such a strong and clear presence, it's a pity she couldn't "play" herslef in the movie. We actually need to hear more directly from her and others affected DIRECTLY, rather than "satisficing" ourselves with middle-(wo)men. Mariane is real life. glowing and riveting. Not only can she stand on her own, she actually overpowers everyone else we've been trained to look at/to.

An extraordinary showcase for the triumphant human spirit: one woman undefeated by a terror that was meant to cripple and another fiercely courageous in telling the story. These are women who inspire me to dig deeper, care more and leave the world--even if it were just my little corner--better than I found it. Thank you, Charlie, for doing your part.

I just watched and listened to your conversation with Vanessa Redgrave. I heard like thunder and lightening the remark that education for young Gypsie children was a need and at 75 I have fought being irrelevant to the crusade Bill Gates spoke of at Harvard. Here is where I fit. I am, of all other things above, a teacher - a really good teacher. I have taught all levels from jr. high to university and it was and is the thing I do. I have taught emotionally disturbed adolescents, hospitalized because they could not go on and I was good at it. Because of Vanessa Redgraves humble transparency, I saw for the first time my role in the human struggle. Good health has been my blessing and I am so available to teach those kids. How can I get aboard. I need to learn, also. I must learn the language of these students and I can then take any assignment except college mathematics. Ironically, I was just looking at a travel brochure from Rice University, one of my schools, and wondering if travel was something I might do to continue growing. I rejected that as just too undefined. Ah, but teaching, anywhere in the world, that is a fit. If teachers are needed, please tell me where I sign up. I know how superficial I might sound, but I am a woman of some substance. These years past, I have lost my beloved husband to Alzheimer's disease and the care of a facility, an excellent facility; and yesterday morning, I lost my dearest friend for 15 years to death. Again, I might sound frivilous, but she was my Sheltie, Rose. I have nothing else to keep me here baking cookies and moping floors. I am just so sincere. Let me know how this teacher can get to those students and I'll do the rest. Jean Carlisle, 1602 18th Ave. N., Texas City, TX 77590

Many thanks for having these two superb women on your show. Where else in world of television but Charlie Rose could this enchanting discussion have taken place I ask? You often bring out the very best of the best, Mr. Rose, just by the very simplicity of your show's format and your persona. Everyone can take inspiration from these amazingly kind, accomplished and energetic women. (I'm so lazy)

Both Ms. Angelina Jolie & Mrs. Mariane Pearl have been woven into the fabric of current events participating in activities that impact upon all of us. Acts of humanity that made me re-think some of my perceptions. Acts of courage by a soon to be Mother, Tireless advocate, Professional Journalist and Wife. Then Ms. Jolie's efforts to re-inact Mrs. Pearl's tragic events with incredible empathy and skill. Thank you Mr. Rose for this segment. My respectful thanks to both Ms. Jolie and Mrs. Pearl to take the time for the interview and to let us see the importance of Danial Pearl's life and the events he was unwittingly and tragically involved in.
