Loved this interview! I am thrilled Ruth Reichl is connecting the 'need to reconnect'cultural searching for one's roots in food, the homemade kind and soulfully presented kind, with story-telling, another compelling magnet for those who want to keep or discover their cultural roots. The more senses we employ in this search, the richer the experience. Imagination and diet are truly linked in great reading and great meals. They are adventures deeply engrained in the human experience and evoke the feeling of having 'returned home' even when we are far away from the places of our roots. How wonderful Ruth chose the wonderful authors she did. I especially am thrilled to become acquainted with Junot Diaz whose two works, Drown, a collection of short stories, and his new novel The Brief Wondrous life or Oscar Wao have captivated me as a daughter of a wonderful Argentine. Thank you, Charlie, for a great podcast. Marcia
