I feel sorry for Lance. I, like many other cycling fans feel that he has been overscrutinized. I understand non American fans that are not crazy about Lance because his victories (except 2003) were relatively boring. I watched the Tour every year since 1985, (I was 10)and LAnce was the best. He was so good, that after 199, I was sure he would always win. It wasn't competitive. That is what the French love, it is the struggle, not the victory. Greg Lemond, who was less great than Lance in achievement is more adored than Lance, because he had to fight every Tour he won, it was never "easy". Again, Lance had really stiff competition, he just blew them away. It is fun if your American, if you are anyone else, it is really boring. It is like watching the super bowl and at the end of the 1st half, the score is 48-3. But he still does not deserve the flak he gets.
