Brian Greene, Alan Alda
A panel discussion about popular understanding of science with guest host Paul Nurse
A conversation about popular understanding of science with guest host Sir Paul Nurse, president of Rockefeller University. Panelists include: physicist Brian Greene and actor Alan Alda.

I only wish that the people in Chicago would know Charlie Rose in daylight hours. The listing of TV programs in the Tribune stops at 5PM forward - with Charlie being listed next at 11PM. People just do not know Charlie in Chicago. The best TV hour on TV Brian Greene is one of the finest speakers I have ever heard and with Alan Alda and Paul Nurse It was a delightful program. Like Alda, I am a serious student of science. However, I wanted to be an MD at loyola Univ. in Chicago (1950) and was not able to do so because of the large number of MDs that had been turned out of Medical Schools right after the WWII and the Korean War. I should have stayed with the Chemistry and math that I was very good at and maybe I could have been an astrophysist like Brian Greene. But when you are 80 years old it is too late for the"could of - should of - would of" I love all you guys. You have restored my faith in TV that now is 95% garbage. Keep up the great work. R. J. Riordan
Charlie, you continue to amaze me. Every time I think I've witnessed the best, most interesting interview you'll ever do, another guest's appearance supercedes my expectations. At 79, legally separated, mother of 7, grandmother of 23, I have spent time musing what is one's life "worth". Your exchange with Alan Alda brought new thoughts just one step short of an epiphany. THANK YOU!
