Bob should not have used the word "Jews," no doubt, but he certainly could have used the word "Zionists." This country is virtually being run by a small group of men who's allegiance is to Israel. I urge everyone to read the Walt/Mearsheimer report on Israel and the Israel lobby in this country. Please investigate. And turn off the TV, even supposedly purer sources of information such as PBS are corrupt.

I especially like Mr. Friedman's comment that what we need is not more "Iraqi soldiers" but more "Iraqi citizens". "What is missing is the will".

Tom Friedman has a strange philosophy about the U.S. involvement in the middle east. He is one of the few intelligent figures I have encountered who truly believes in the idea of the Iraq war, and in fact, war in general. He buys into the oversold nuclear threat, and into the idea that our involvement in bringing moderate government to Middle East is not just beneficial but necessary. I personally believe "success" in such an undertaking is highly unlikely relative to the chance of making things worse, feeding the hatred of the western world, producing a culture of militant extremism, etc. Also, the comment by "Bob" about the "Jew Tom Friedman" is highly inappropriate, but more importantly is just stupid.
