The show they talk about creating, and the anchor - he exists. He is Jeremy Paxman, and it's a shame you don't have anyone like him on your side of the Atlantic. Fascinating interview, I'd love to see Jon come on again.

Jon Stewart is brilliant and his critiques of the system are incisive in so many ways. Also, it is evident from his interviews (as it is from Stephen Colbert's interview) that both men deeply respect Charlie Rose and the intellectual engagement the conversations offer.

Thank you so much for posting this. It's great to see what a passionate, funny, informed and smart man he is. It is such a joy to watch and to listen to him speak about these things that he genuinely cares about. He, for me, truly embodies what an American citizen should be. I always feel that it is such a shame that Jon tends to get eclipsed now by Stephen, who has created a brilliant character who takes up so much space and has such an overwhelming presence. Jon is a tremendous man who deserves just as much, if not more, praise and attention.

Charlie, This conversation made me realize that our political debates need someone who interviews in the ability and style that you exemplify. No more scripted monologues during a debate, the public needs YOU to discuss with the candidate for 10-15 minutes of a give-and-take conversation on a particular issue. Break them out of their political mold, and make their beliefs come "alive."

Thanks, Charlie, for having Jon Stewart on in Sept. 2004. Any plans to have him on again after a 3 year hiatus?

Thank you so much for these interviews of Jon and Stephen Colbert. It's so interesting and reassuring to see what they're really like, what their own opinions and thoughts are. I'd absolutely love to see Jon or Stephen again.
