Now it makes perfect sense that Ted Turner founded CNN. The news media trend toward pessimism and fear, and Turner is no different. His outlook on humanity sounds more like science-fiction then science fact. Scholars have been ranting about over-population for centuries (i.e. Malthus), and none of their predictions have come true. Moreover, thirty years ago, the news media scared us with images of a coming ice age...now...it's global warming. As a result, we're all going to die, or end up becoming cannibals, according to Ted Turner. Is that what he tells his grandkids?
Ted Turner! Just saw the hour @ Charlie Rose. Little did I know what's in this man and what he is all about. Not many men have accomplished so much and are still so humble and yet so secure. All I can say is Ted, you're an AWESOME man! And, still a rascal... Thank goodness there are guys like you in this world!
Caught the rebroadcast of Charlie's interview with Ted Turner last night and was bowled over by Ted Turner's worldview opinions on nuclear proliferation and overpopulation (something you hardly hear about anymore!). I've seen several interviews with Turner before but this was the BEST. 'Loved his singing side too!
Ted Turner is my kind of guy--I live close to his NM buffalo ranches--takes care of the land-- Ted Turner for president---Charlie was outdone by Ted--you dont bulldoze Ted..as seen by the interview.
Great interveiw. Gotta love Ted's candor. Don't be fooled by his aw shucks demeanor. The guy is genius.
