Dear Charlie: I could write pages on your virtues, but know you are busy; so I limit myself to criticism of last night's George Will interview. I thought you gave him a ridiculous pass when he said Obama, because he was "liberal," would bloat government in ineffective and costly ways. You didn't call him on this ridiculous prognostication, based on nothing but his own biases. How does he know what will occur? How can we cover costs in Iraq except by taxes and new budget priorities? How will climate change be addressed if not through regulation? Will just name-calling. After this comment, and your lack of forceful response, I said to my wife, "Well, I knew it wasn't worth listing to George Will, even on Charlie Rose." I was right, and turned the channel. You should have peppered him the way you did Arianna Huffington. Sincerely, John Kadvany / Menlo Park

Or are you French? Maybe it doesn't matter. If you have read any of his books on the Palestinian question you would realize that he is one of the best representatives of Palestianians. Do a little more research before you rip someone. He certianly does.

Edward Said was so wrong about Palestine and Palestinians. He belittled them by presumptuously speaking on their behalf, a people he had no relation to and had no way of knowing, from his plush headquarters in NYC. His work only appeals to Westerners who are likewise clueless. What a charade, for a chameleon to speak for the Arab World, a world he did not write about accurately, one that he distorted and divided, and most gravely, mythologized. His phony accent is also maddening, as were his views on the French cultural scene, one that he could not have understood well as a Palestinian, as Palestinians have never played a role in French culture. Abominable man.
