      Trying to get an Irishman to analyze and explain the source of their passion is like trying to get a Leprechaun to give up his gold. Charlie Rose, as usual, succeeds. Bono is the rare individual who defies and exceeds all expectations of human potential--a modern day Saint.

      Bono, the one in a million, never forgets where he came from or the source of his gifts. God bless the Irish because they truly break it all down to the lowest common denominator. Devoid of the intellectual BS, Bono is the grounded star who deserves our attention.

      This is the best interview of Bono I've ever seen. A paradigm of why Charlie Rose is the most insightful and dignified interviewer on American television. So many pop t.v. moderators give the subject 6 minutes to spout soundbites, interupted by commercials and promos. Rose has the art of asking and then following where his guests take the conversation.

      The only peer on this level in the United States is the American PBS radio interviewer, Terry Gross, whose progam "Fresh Air" often leaves me equally amazed. They both have the talent of evoking deeply personal responses without leaving me feeling like I've dirtied myself with the voyeuristic babble of the paparazzi.
