Please shut up and let your guests talk.
Charlie: Please, in the future include democrats in your discussion teams. Tonight you had only republicans with the exception of the lady in red from somewhere long distance. It is tiresome and unfair to hear the commentators in CNN's Wolf so called "the best team". Why are these obviously republicans pundits being so loud and hateful of Hillary? We need to listen to impartial reporters, of both parties. They need to show some respect to their democrat listeners who are not mad about Obama. I have heard many people who are disappointed with the media cover of politics. Please, Charlie, be more impartial on your choice of guests! You are my midnight friend for whom I stay up late, so don't let these guys spit on my beliefs! Thank you! M.P.
The next time I go to NY, I'm going to the Hayden Planetarium too. Thanks for this.
Dear Charlie, I feel free for call you Charlie since your are responsible for keeping me up too late. Even though I have a TiVo, inevitably I stay up to peek at yiyr guests....then I''m hooked. I want to suggest a program. You have, of course discussed the Iraq war with journalist, politicians, schlter. The first two you know, and need no introduction. You may not,, however, be familiar with Dennis Showalter. olars, etc. But, not yet, i don't believe, among those who's judgement might the most penetrating - military historians. I propose a program featuring three of the most respected military historians, writing today: John Keegan, Victor Hanson, and Dennis Showalter.. Showalter has taught at Colorado College in Colorado Springs since 1969. He is also the author of thirty some books, including Paton and Rommel, which was well received last year. He also wrote Tannenberg, A clash of Empires which is regarded as the standard wdork on the battle, as well as The Wars of Fredrick the Great. He has been twice President of the Association of Military Historians, an editor of War and History, an English and American collaterbrativr scholarly journal. He is also on the board of editors of World War II magazine Though none of the three has, combat experience, Dr. Showalter has a unique acquaintance with today's military officers. He has taught at the Marine War College at Quantico for twenty years, and consequently he both knows and has taught virtuall all senior officers serving today, and has known many of them since they wer lieutenants and captains. He has taught at least four years full time at the Air Force Academy, and delivered numerous lectures before both officers and cadets. He knows or is friends with most of the officer corps. Finally, he has taught at least two years at West Point. And again, knows the territory like an old drummer. He is affable and Irish - although his name is German. The three are acquainted and cover most of the political spectrum. The only thing I fear from such a discussion, being a McCarthy democrat (that's Eugene, not Joe), is intelligent, conservative argument. I hope you will seriously consider this program format as I believe it would make for a most interesting, insightful, and entertaining hour. Charlie Rose proves that people do want to see quality television and intelligent conversation. It is like being invited to an intellectual salon. Thank you Charlie. I am glad to have met you through this medium. This kind of show was what the pundits in the 1950's said would help educate the public. Dr. P.
