Mr Rose I am watching your interview with Mr Mandelson and I am disturbed by his comment that jobs that are exported create other jobs and we, the working class, should be prepared to move on to the new jobs that are somehow created by this phenom ( I am paraphrasing here somewhat). At this point I want you to know how much I appreciate what you do, and I find your panel discussions particularly informative! I am probably as typical a "Blue Collar Worker" as you would find in the US. I got a really good high school education in Fairfax County, Va., graduating in 1967. I was accepted at Va. Tech. I quit afrter one quarter and worked for 25 years for two different telephone companies. There are three children that were raised during this period and they turned out to be fine adults. This was in part due to my employment; the stability of it; the wage; the benefits; etc. Why won't you put together a panel of us "blue collar folks" and have a discussion of what we think and feel about the "goins' on" of these times; much in the spirit of Ken Burn's THE WAR? You generally interview the heavy hitters. Particularly in thes times, I think it would be a good thing for us "blue collar" folks to be given a forum. I think it would be good for the "blue collar" folks to know they are not alone in thir thoughts and feelings, but more importantly, your "heavy hitters", the politicians, the policy makers, need to hear from us!!!!!! I would imagine that you have a staff that could put a group of us together, and I know for sure that you would have a GOOD and serious time with us.
