Fantastic exchange of ideas between between Schnabel and Bowie. This is not a boring interview; the interviewees' minds were very open and honesty and opinion flowed. When it comes to visual artforms Bowie is well informed.

American history is proof enough that it is always those in positions of power that take advantage of those who are disadvantaged. Be they communities or people. Robert Johnsons used to be recorded by the likes of Cream, Rolling Stones and Yardbirds without ever giving credit or acknowledging his brilliance. It wasn't until after ROBERT JOHSON BOX set came out in 1990 that they started to give him credit. The same can be said of Paul SImon and the South African musicians in Graceland and every move and style Elvis Presley ever learned but didn't acknowledge or contribute back to Black people. David Bowie Rocks!

Julian Schnabel used Jean Michel Basquiat as his background and fabricated a friendship between them that did not exist. Jean MIchel Basquiat disliked Schnabel very much in his lifetime for Schnabel's interest in stealing the young artists style and ideas.

Fascinating debate, at moments, between Schnabel and Bowie on chauvinistic art commerce. We are all artists of course, it is hardwired to create. Surprising (to me) how intellectual and insightful Bowie is -- great tv, and a great film as well. Bowie becomes Warhol, and Jeff Wright and Walken rule in this wonderful movie! Great discussion, thank you.
