Description

David Remnick and Roger Angell of "The New Yorker" remember Joe Mitchell, who wrote for "The New Yorker" magazine for 58 years. Mitchell covered events including the 1936 World's Fair and several presidential elections, as well as captured the character of New York institutions like McSorley's Saloon and the Fulton Fish Market, preserving for generations to come a New York that does not exist anymore.
