Dr. Sowell is arguably the greatest intellectual of this generation. Progressives and social liberals detest him because they know he has the facts, and that he does not pander to anyone. He is truly unclassifiable, rejecting labels like "conservative" or "libertarian." The American intelligentsia ought to show more respect to someone who understands that empiricism trumps emotionalism. Moreover, Sowell is too often characterized as a 'black' intellectual, rather than simply a factophilic intellectual.
