Tom Gerard Tancredo is an American politician from the Republican Party. He has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1999, representing the 6th Congressional District of Colorado. He gained national attention for his strong stance against illegal immigration and has been critical of the Communist Chinese government. He sponsored the Sudanese Act, and, in 2005, introduced a resolution calling on the U.S. President to recognize the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and to abandon the One-China Policy.
