Ray Takeyh is an Iranian-American Middle East scholar. A Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, he is also a contributing editor of "The National Interest". He has extensively written on Iran, and appeared at the US Senate hearings and various TV programs, including several appearances on the PBS Newshour. His books include "Hidden Iran: Paradox and Power in the Islamic Republic" and "The Receding Shadow of the Prophet: The Rise and Fall of Radical Political Islam".
