Mimi Valdes
Mimi Valdes is the editor-in-chief of "Vibe."
Valdes got her start at "Vibe" in 1993 after graduating from NYU. She was promoted to assistant editor and then associate editor before leaving "Vibe" to work at a record company. Returning to "Vibe" a year and a half later, Valdes was the style editor until leaving to be managing editor at "Vibe's" new publication, "Blaze." She was eventually promoted to editor-in-chief as "Blaze," but when that publication closed down, Valdes went back to "Vibe" as executive editor, soon changing her position to editor-at-large. She was eventually promoted to editor-in-chief.
