Fareed Zakaria
Fareed Zakaria is a journalist, columnist, author, editor, commentator, and television host specializing in international relations and foreign affairs. He was named Editor of "Newsweek International" in October 2000. He writes a weekly foreign affairs column for "Newsweek", which appears fortnightly in the "Washington Post". In 2003, his book "The Future of Freedom: Illiberal Democracy at Home and Abroad" was published.
On television, Zakaria hosts the weekly "Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria" news show for PBS. Since 2002, he has been a regular member of the roundtable of ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" and an analyst for ABC News. His work has also appeared in "Foreign Affairs", "The New Yorker", and "The Wall Street Journal". Zakaria has won several awards for his "Newsweek" columns, and he was named "one of the 21 most important people of the 21st Century" by "Esquire".
