Brent Sadler is an award-winning American journalist. He is CNN's Beirut bureau chief, and an internationally recognized investigative journalist. During his career, Sadler has covered a number of prominent news stories from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Russia and South America. He won an individual BAFTA for the Best Actuality Coverage of the Gulf War. His also won an Overseas Press Club of America Award for Meritorious Reporting and his reports on the Russian elections earned a Cable ACE Award.
Following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., Sadler reported from Beirut on the international community's reaction to the attacks, focusing on the response from the Middle East. He also reported on NATO's air strikes against Yugoslavia from Belgrade, and he covered the 1998 U.S. air strikes on Sudan and Afghanistan and the role of international terrorist Osama bin Laden.
