Ali Fadhil was trained as a medical doctor, and after the invasion he turned to journalism. He first worked as an interpreter for the Financial Times, the Guardian, Time, The New Yorker and NPR. Since 2004 he has made several documentaries for Channel 4 in London. He is now a Fulbright scholar in the Department of Journalism at NYU.
