Chukwuemeka Ndubuisi Okafor, abbreviated as Emeka Okafor, is an American professional basketball player. He is the power forward for the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association. He was named NBA Rookie of the Year in 2005. Prior to the NBA, Okafor excelled athletically and academically at Houston’s Bellaire High School, and the University of Connecticut, where he was named the NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
