Charles “Chuck” Lane is a journalist and editor who is currently a staff writer for the ?Washington Post?. He was the lead editor of ?The New Republic? from 1997 to 1999 and a former general editor of ?Newsweek?. He received a citation for excellence from the Overseas Press Club for his coverage of the former Yugoslavia and contributed to the book ?Crimes of War: What the Public Should Know?.
Lane was a Media Fellow of the Japan Society and U.S. Japan Foundation from 2003 to 2004. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and, as of 2007, Lane covers the Supreme Court for the ?Washington Post?.
