Alexei Ratmansky is the Artistic Director of the Bolshoi Ballet, a position he has held since January 2004. Ratmansky trained in the Moscow State Academy of Choreography. After graduation he danced with the Kiev Ballet, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and was a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet. While at the Bolshoi, he has led the dancers in “The Bright Stream,” as well as the more contemporary “In the Upper Room,” choreographed by Twyla Tharp.
