John Travolta is an American actor who first came to national prominence in the TV sitcom “Welcome Back, Kotter.” He then starred on the big screen in “Saturday Night Fever.” He starred in many other films, including “Grease,” “Urban Cowboy,” “Look Who?s Talking,” “Phenomenon,” Michael,” “Face-Off,” “The General?s Daughter,” “Swordfish,” and “Ladder 49.”

Travolta has been nominated for Academy Awards twice for “Saturday Night Fever” and “Pulp Fiction.” He also received BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for “Pulp Fiction” and was named Best Actor by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, among other distinguished awards. Travolta also starred in “Get Shorty,” which won him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. He was nominated again for a Golden Globe for his performance in “Primary Colors.”
