Harold Bloom is an American professor and prominent literary and cultural critic. Bloom has constructed controversial theories of poetic influence, and advocates an aesthetic approach to literature against Feminist, Marxist, New Historicist, Post-modernist, and other methods of academic literary criticism. Bloom is currently a Sterling Professor of the Humanities at Yale University and Berg Professor of English and American Literature at New York University.
