Thom Mayne is an American architect. He helped found the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC) in 1972. He is principal of Morphosis, a renowned architectural office. Mayne received the Pritzker Prize (architecture’s highest honor) in March 2005.
Mayne has received many awards, including the Pritzker Prize, Chrysler Design Award of Excellence, and the Los Angeles Gold Medal, American Institute of Architects. The places he has completed range from the San Francisco Federal Building, to the Wayne L. Morse United States Courthouse, Eugene, Oregon, and the Science Center School, Los Angeles.
