Newton Leroy Gingrich served as the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999.

During his tenure as Speaker, Gingrich led the Republican Revolution, ending 40 years of Democratic party majorities in the House. Gingrich has since remained involved in national politics and public policy debate. He is a senior fellow at the conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute and has founded the Center for Health Transformation.

Gingrich is the author of “Rediscovering God in America” (2006) and “Winning the Future: A 21st Century Contract with America” (2006). He is a possible 2008 presidential candidate for the Republican Party.
