Ambassador Holbrooke is vice chairman of Perseus LLC, a leading private equity firm. He is the former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. and member of the cabinet (1999-2001). He was the chief architect of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, assistant secretary of state for European and Canadian affairs (1994-96), U.S. ambassador to Germany (1993-94), assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs (1977-81), and a member of Averell Harriman’s delegation at the 1968-69 Paris Peace talks on Vietnam. He has also served as vice chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston, managing director of Lehman Brothers, managing editor of ‘Foreign Policy’, and director of the Peace Corps in Morocco.

Ambassador Holbrooke has received seven Nobel Peace Prize nominations; is the author of “To End A War”; and is the co-author of “Counsel to the President” and one volume of the “Pentagon Papers”. He is the chairman of the Asia Society, chairman of the American Academy in Berlin, president and CEO of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, and serves on numerous boards.
