James E. Risen is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. He joined “The New York Times” as a correspondent in the Washington bureau, covering national security and intelligence, in May 1998. Risen covered national security and intelligence from 1995 to 1998 for the “Los Angeles Times”; he was chief economic correspondent in their Washington bureau from 1990 to 1995.
Risen is the author of the book “State of War” (January 2006).
