Lynn Nottage is an American Pulitzer Prize winning playwright whose work often deals with the lives of African Americans and women. She was born in Brooklyn and is a graduate of Brown University and the Yale School of Drama. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2005, and a MacArthur Genius Grant in 2007. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2009 for Ruined.
