Dolores Hope was a singer, but best known as a philanthropist and the widow of the legendary Bob Hope. She received several honorary doctorates, including those given by St. Michael’s College, St. Bonaventure University, Benedictine College and St. Louis University. She also received: The Eleanor Darnell Carroll Award, Outstanding Mother of the Year by the Helping Hands Organization of Cedar-Sinai Hospital, The Gift of Life Award, in recognition of her work as Founding President of the Board of Directors of the Agency from 1949-1951, by Holy Family Adoption Service. Each of Hope’s many awards and honors speak to her total dedication to others and their needs.
