Janey Fair is the Kentucky woman, who, along with her husband, Larry, fought Ford to make school buses safer after her daughter Shannon and 26 others were killed in 1988 when a drunk driver hit their school bus head-on. Fair and her husband were the subjects of James S. Kunen?s book ‘Reckless Disregard: Corporate Greed, Government Indifference, and the Kentucky School Bus Crash’, which followed the court case of the Fairs and another couple who proved that Ford was knowingly manufacturing unsafe school buses.
