Mike McAlary (1957 - 1998) was an American journalist who had worked at the “New York Daily News” for 12 years, following the police beat. In 1988 he wrote a book, “Buddy Boys”, about corrupt cops in New York’s 77th Precinct, and won a Pulitzer Prize for his exposé of the New York police torture of Abner Louima in Brooklyn in 1997.
