Donna Edna Shalala is the current (since 2001) president of the University of Miami. She served as Presidemt Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Health and Human Services from 1993 to 2001. In 2007, President George W. Bush appointed Donna Shalala and Bob Dole co-chairs of a commission to investigate problems at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She won the President’s Medal of Freedom in 2008.
