Ed Markey is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives. Since 1976, he has represented the 7th District of Massachusetts, and is the Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, and is the House Panel on Global Warming.

Markey is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Since May 2005 he has been a contributing blogger at “The Huffington Post”. He is responsible for introducing legislation to change daylight saving time to begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November starting in 2007.
