Lawrence K. Grossman is the president of PBS Horizons Cable, and the former president of NBC News (1984-1988).
Prior to his time at NBC, Grossman was president and chief executive officer of (PBS). For eight years he served as president of Forum Communications, Inc., and has also held positions in charge of advertising at NBC, and in promotion at CBS and ?Look” Magazine, as well as president of his own media and public affairs production firm, Lawrence K. Grossman, Inc.
Grossman is author of ?The Electronic Republic: Reshaping Democracy in the Information Age” and writes a regular column for the Columbia Journalism Review called, ?In the Public Interest.” He serves on various nonprofit boards including the International Longevity Center, the International Council on Global Public Health Progress, Connecticut Public Television and Radio and the American Heart Association Research Council in New York City.
