Donald G. Stein is a physiological psychologist and Asa G. Candler Professor of psychology, emergency medicine and neurology at Emory University. Before recently returning to full-time teaching and research, Stein served Emory for five years as vice provost for graduate studies, dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and interim vice president for research. Stein was vice provost for research and dean of the Graduate School at Rutgers University, Newark, from 1988-1995 and also was adjunct professor of neurology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Stein is the author of 200 articles, book chapters, reviews and papers on the subject of recovery from brain injury. He also has authored or edited 16 books on that topic. His most recent book, “Brain Repair”, has been published in five languages. Stein is the founding editor of the journal Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience and co-editor of J. Pediatric Neurorehabilitation.
