Marvin R. Shanken is an American publisher and founder of M. Shanken Communications. He has built a group of lifestyle publications, including award-winning “Wine Spectator” and “Cigar Aficionado.” Today, “Wine Spectator” is the largest circulated wine magazine in the world, reaching over two million readers both nationally and abroad.

Shanken created “Cigar Aficionado” in the 1990s, and helped ignite the largest cigar boom in history, making cigar smoking an international trend. Additionally, M. Shanken Communications hosts over a dozen major events a year, including “Cigar Aficionado” Big Smokes, “Wine Spectator’s” Wine Experiences and Grand Tours, which are attended by thousands of wine lovers from around the world.
