Bill Cosby is an American actor, comedian, television producer, and activist. He became television?s first black star of a dramatic series with “I Spy” in 1965, for which he received an Emmy award for outstanding actor in a dramatic series. His next series was “The Bill Cosby Show”. He worked with Sidney Poitier on movies like “Uptown Saturday Night” and “Let’s Do It Again”.
Cosby’s greatest television success came in 1984 with the debut of “The Cosby Show”. After “The Cosby Show” went off the air in 1992, he embarked on a number of other projects, including “You Bet Your Life”, “I Spy Returns”, and “The Cosby Mysteries”. He has received numerous awards and honorary degress including Kennedy Center Honors, the Presidential Metal of Freedom, and the 2003 Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. His books include “Love and Marriage” and “Friends of a Feather”.
