Francis Ford Coppola is a five-time Academy Award winning American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is also a vintner, magazine publisher, and hotelier. Francis is most renowned for directing the highly regarded “Godfather” trilogy, “The Conversation”, and “Apocalypse Now”. He also wrote the screenplay adaptation for “The Great Gatsby” and produced George Lucas’s breakthrough film, “American Graffiti”.
In 1986 Coppola, with George Lucas, directed the Michael Jackson film for Disney theme parks, “Captain Eo”, which at the time was the most expensive film per minute ever made. In 1997, he founded Zoetrope All-Story, a flashy literary magazine that publishes short stories. He has executive produced and co-produced many successful movies including “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein”, Sleepy Hollow”, and “Kinsey”.
