Blair A. Ruble is an American political scientist and editor. He is Director of the Kennan Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.. Ruble has edited a dozen volumes, and is the author of four monographic studies. His book-length works include a trilogy examining the fate of Russian provincial cities during the twentieth century: “Leningrad. Shaping a Soviet City”; “Money Sings! The Changing Politics of Urban Space in Post-Soviet Yaroslavl”; and “Second Metropolis: Pragmatic Pluralism in Gilded Age Chicago, Silver Age Moscow, and Meiji Osaka”.
