Johnathan K. Favreau is an American actor, screenwriter and director best known for ‘Swingers’, which he wrote and acted in.

After dropping out of Queens College, Favreau moved to Chicago in 1988 to pursue a career in comedy. He performed at several Chicago improvisational theaters, including the ImprovOlympic and the Improv Institute. While in Chicago, Favreau landed his first film role in ‘Rudy’ (1993). The next year, he appeared in the college film ‘PCU’ and also played a guest role in several episodes of the sitcom ‘Friends’. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he made his breakthrough in 1996 as an actor-screenwriter with the film ‘Swingers’.

Since ‘Swingers’ Favreau has appeared in ‘Very Bad Things’ (1998), ‘Love & Sex’ (2000), and ‘Daredevil’ (2003). In 2001, he made his film directorial debut with another self-penned screenplay, ‘Made’. In the fall of 2003, he directed the hit comedy ‘Elf’. He continues to act and direct and appeared in ‘The Break-Up’ recently.
